Rendered in a restrained palette of charcoal, slate grey, and bone white, this composition is anchored by a single, decisive vein of gold that runs the length of the canvas — a fissure of warmth cutting through an otherwise cool, monochromatic field. The painting divides itself into distinct territories: a hazy, atmospheric grey expanse at upper right, a jagged black wedge driving in from the edge, and a luminous, roughly hewn passage of white and cream occupying the lower register.

The surface is built through heavy, dragged brushwork and scraped textures that recall weathered stone, geological strata, or torn paper — the marks feel excavated rather than applied, with the underlying darker ground showing through in raw, uneven striations.
